Our unwavering foundations

Discover the core beliefs that guide Lighthouse Baptist Church and shape our faith community in Lake Wales, Florida. Our doctrines are built on the unchanging truth of God's Word.

The inspired word of God

At Lighthouse Baptist Church, we firmly believe the Word of God is divinely inspired, inerrant, and infallible. We uphold the verbal, plenary inspiration of scriptures, exclusively using the King James Bible. We consider the Bible our authoritative standard for faith, practice, and instruction, guiding every aspect of our lives.

The eternal Godhead

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, working in perfect unity. This foundational truth illuminates the nature of God's love and His intricate plan for humanity.

Genesis account of creation

We believe God is the sole creator of this universe, adhering to the Genesis account of creation. We hold that creation took place in six literal days, each a 24-hour period. This belief underscores God's omnipotence and sovereignty over all creation.

Genesis account of creation

We believe that God, in His sovereign wisdom and out of love for humanity, sent Christ into the world to atone for our sins. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin. The four Gospels showcase His incredible works, miracles, and signs. He was crucified, died for our sins, and rose from the dead on the third day. Following His resurrection, He ascended to Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Throne of God. As the Head of the Church, He intercedes on behalf of believers. He will return personally to this earth to establish His millennial kingdom.

Genesis account of creation

We believe that through His death and the shedding of His blood, the Lord Jesus made a complete atonement for sin. His sacrifice justifies the believer.
We hold that true believers are eternally secure and cannot lose their salvation. While sin may disrupt the joy of fellowship with God and invite the loving discipline of our Heavenly Father, it cannot sever their relationship with Him.
We affirm that all who receive Christ become joint heirs with Him. Upon death, their spirits will depart to be with Christ in a state of conscious blessedness. At the Rapture, their bodies will be resurrected in the likeness of His glory and will dwell forever in His divine presence.
We believe it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
